1st Deutsches Symposium für die grabenlose Leitungserneuerung, Universität Siegen
At the First German Symposium on Trenchless Pipe Renewal, Dr. J. Hessel presented the benefits of PE pipes for trenchless pressure pipe renewal, offering economic and environmentally friendly solutions, especially in urban areas.
On October 10 and 11, 2006, the 1st Deutsche Symposium für die grabenlose Leitungserneuerung was held at the University of Siegen. Over 250 experts from the water supply and disposal industry attended the event. Professor Dr.-Ing. Horst Görg, a member of the Water and Environmental Research Institute (fwu) and the Department of Civil Engineering, welcomed the participants.
During the symposium, Dr. J. Hessel gave a presentation titled "Polyethylene Pipes for Trenchless Pressure Pipe Renewal". This talk highlighted the use of PE pipes in the trenchless renewal of pressure pipelines. Trenchless technology offers economic benefits by minimizing excavation work and avoiding the need for open trenching or heavy machinery. Such techniques are particularly important in densely populated areas, to preserve trees, or on heavily trafficked roads. Trenchless pipe renewal helps extend the service life of pipelines and reduces environmental impact.
