At the annual meeting of the DVS Working Group W 4, Dr. Hessel and Johannes Grieser presented on the long-term strength of polyethylene welds and the development of standardized welding methods for PE 100 pipes.
The annual meeting of the DVS Working Group W 4 "Fügen von Kunststoffen" took place on May 23-24, 2007, at SKZ in Würzburg. During this event, Dr. Hessel (on behalf of J. Grieser) gave a presentation titled:
"Überprüfung des geforderten Zeitstandzug-Schweißfaktors und der Mindestlebensdauer von Schweißverbindungen aus Polyethylen."
This presentation served as the basis for a DVS guideline, developed by DVS AG W 4.04. It focused on the long-term strength of polyethylene welded joints, the evaluation of the required welding factor, and the minimum lifespan under various application conditions.
Johannes Grieser also presented on:
"PE 100+ Association: Projekt Großrohrschweißen."
This project focused on developing a globally standardized process for butt fusion welding of PE 100 pipes, with the aim of promoting consistently high quality in both production and usage of PE 100 pipes.
