Brittle fracture is what matters

Testing methods for assessing the resistance of PE 100-RC pressure pipe materials to slow crack growth.

Pipe leaks due to cracks can be a long-term consequence of surface scratches, notches, or point loads. These can occur, for example, from stones before or during installation. The resistance of PE pressure pipe materials to slow crack growth is therefore at the forefront of durability tests. New, more stress-crack-resistant materials require a careful selection of appropriate testing methods and parameters to obtain reliable results.
